According to a spokesman from the Xiqing government, the new IKEA mall has resumed construction after it was suspended in order to ensure it complied with environment protection guidelines. The main body construction will be completed in October this year and the mall will officially open in April of 2019.
The new IKEA is located in the Zhongbei business circle in Xiqing District, 10km from the downtown area and 1 km from the Caozhuang railway station on metro line 2. The mall will provide all of IKEA’s home products and services. The first IKEA in Tianjin is located in Dongli District.
